Exhibition-catalogue from 1970

Plenty of Chau Tran's works were sold on charity-exhibitions between 1967 and 1975 (the early works signed with his chinese birthname Chen Ying Yi). Amongst others the amount insured the benefit of chinese schools in the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) and the operating costs of the five big chinese hospitals in Saigon. To cover the expenses of the Zong-Zheng-Hospital (one of the big five chinese hospitals in Saigon) a group-exhibition was organized in 1970, on which Chau Tran (in the age of 21) displayed with famous artists from the Republic of China (Taiwan), Hongkong and the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam). Chau Tran's copy of the catalogue of this exhibition which is shown here was not destroyed in 1975 (see main documentation-text), but kept secret behind the ancestors altar by his father. Chau Tran's parents finally brought the catalogue with them on their emigration to Australia.

This site is dedicated to the MASTERS, which accompanied me as friends until 1975, especially in my youth. In particular I remember those, who disappeared after the year 1975, perished on the sea while escaping or died from heavy diseases and strokes of fate.
